Lange Companies is currently looking for an Account Development Manager to join our Team.

The ideal Account Development Manager has a proven track record of success in developing new business opportunities, fostering high-level customer relationships, and collaborating with teams to ensure seamless onboarding and operational excellence. This role focuses on cultivating and maintaining customer relationships during the sales process, while effectively transitioning new accounts to the Account Manager team to ensure long-term customer success.

This opportunity is available in the following location: East Coast Region.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue business opportunities by building professional working relationships with prospective clients. 
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas by generating new accounts and maintaining profitability. 
  • Stay informed of trends and data within the produce and freight market, leveraging insights to identify new opportunities and ensure market specialization knowledge. 
  • Collaborate with the team to develop creative solutions tailored to customer needs and expectations. 
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of sales pipelines and customer interactions within the CRM
  • Coordinate with the VP and Account Managers to ensure the successful onboarding of new accounts, ensuring long-term customer success. 
  • Provide top-tier customer service to foster satisfaction and loyalty. 
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support Company goals. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/​Experience):

  • Proven success in a direct sales role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in produce-related industries. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of consultative sales techniques and business development methods. 
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools and software/​platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and persuade. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Professional demeanor with consistent attendance, punctuality, and a polished appearance. 
  • Positive attitude with enthusiasm, energy, and an optimistic approach. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/​Experience): 

  • 5+ years of experience in a sales or business development role within the produce industry. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, or a related field. 
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations (including PACA) and market dynamics specific to the fresh produce sector. 
  • Proven ability to analyze market data and trends to identify and capitalize on opportunities. 
  • Exceptional teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve shared goals.
