Lange Fresh Farms is currently looking for a Grower Program Assistant to join our Team.

As the Program Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative and operational support across various teams, including sales, accounting, and operations. Key responsibilities include assisting with the modification and upload of manifests for grower programs, transmitting manifests to warehouses, and cross-checking and reconciling manifests with arrival information. The position also involves supporting payment requests, posting invoices, and tracking inbound shipments via containers, bulk vessels, and air. Additionally, the role includes coordinating with insurance and survey companies, assisting with purchase order processing, and supporting liquidation processes. Other duties include maintaining files, assisting with repack control, and supporting accounts payable tasks. The candidate must be willing to work one weekend every 3 – 4 weeks for up to 3 hours during the peak season (May-Nov). Weekend work can be completed remotely. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams to ensure smooth operations and accurate records.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with modifying and uploading manifests for various grower programs and transmit manifests to warehouses.
  • Help request, apply, and post payments to specific lots as directed.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, answering phones, and managing correspondence.
  • Cross-check and reconcile manifests with arrival information, adjusting records as needed.
  • Support the preparation of liquidations for review upon sales completion and help finalize lot liquidations.
  • Track inbound shipments via containers, bulk vessels, and air.
  • Coordinate with insurance and survey companies to initiate claims when necessary.
  • Work with the Operations (OPS) team to coordinate surveys and related activities.
  • Support processing, entry, tracking, and reconciliation of Purchase Orders (POs) upon warehouse arrival.
  • Assist with entering and posting invoices, including repack and other program-specific invoices in the FAMOUS system.
  • Update and maintain files within the company’s shared drive or other designated platforms.
  • Provide administrative support to the sales, accounting, and operations teams.
  • Work closely with the operations team to assist in repack control and reconciliation.
  • Process grower liquidation returns, and settlement returns as required.
  • Aid in processing payment requests and perform data entry related to accounts payable.
  • Weekends every 3 – 4 weeks during peak season (May- Nov)
  • Participate in additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/​Experience):

  • Associate degree or higher in business, agriculture, or related field preferred.
  • 1 – 3 years of experience working in an office setting, preferably in an administrative position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/​Experience): 

  • Experience using FAMOUS software or similar ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with Walmart Retail Link.
  • Prior experience in retail produce or the agricultural industry.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory tracking and logistics processes.
  • Previous experience with accounts payable, invoicing, or data entry in a business setting.
